How we pick and check these

Where do these deals come from?

From amazon.ie's own deals pages. Item.ie reads them, and a person at Item.ie picks the ones worth a look. A few are picked automatically, and those cards say so.

Does anyone pay for a place here?

No. The newest pick comes first and nothing else moves a card. As an Amazon Associate, Item.ie earns from qualifying purchases, and that commission never changes what is shown or in what order. It costs you nothing.

What is the saving measured against?

Against Amazon's own reference, quoted in Amazon's words: its lowest price in the last 30 days, its typical price, its previous price or the RRP. A percentage appears only against the 30-day low. None of it is our own price history, which is why these deals live here and not in Price drops.

What does Checked mean, and how long do these last?

It is the last time our checker confirmed the deal on amazon.ie, from Amazon's deal list or the product page itself. Many Amazon deals end within a day. A pick leaves this page when Amazon's own end time passes, when a check finds it ended or dearer, or a day after its last check, whichever comes first. Prices and Amazon's badges show only while the checker is running.

Is the price on the card the price I pay?

The price on amazon.ie when you buy is the one that counts. Delivery is extra unless amazon.ie says otherwise, a Prime members' price needs Prime, and the seller may be a marketplace trader named on Amazon's page.

Why are these not in Price drops?

Price drops on Item.ie are measured against prices we recorded ourselves at Irish retailers. These are measured against Amazon's own reference, so they are kept apart and never mixed into those lists.
