Privacy

The short version

Item.ie compares prices from Irish retailers. We do not sell products, we never take a payment, and we do not sell or rent anyone's details to anybody.

Visits

We keep basic, anonymous statistics about which pages are read and which searches come back empty, so we know what is worth building. Nothing in that is tied to your name, and we do not store your IP address.

Like most sites, we also use third-party analytics tools. Those set their own cookies and are covered by their own privacy policies. A content blocker or a browser that blocks third-party cookies stops them, and the site works exactly the same without them.

If you give us your email

We store the address so we can get in touch. We do not pass it to anyone else, and every message we ever send will have a one-click unsubscribe on it.

Ask us to delete it and we will.

If you create an account

Your password is stored only as a hash, so it cannot be read back out by us or by anyone else. Being signed in sets one cookie of our own, which holds a random session token and nothing more.

Deleting the account deletes what it held.
