Terms of use

Last updated 5 October 2026.

Who we are

Item.ie is run by Badr Salim, a sole trader in Ireland. Write to [email protected] or use the contact form.

What Item.ie is

A free price comparison service. We show prices, stock and price history collected from Irish retailers' websites and apps. We sell nothing: when you buy, you buy from the retailer, on the retailer's terms, and the retailer is responsible for the product, the price you pay, delivery and returns.

Prices and information

Every price shows when we last checked it, but a retailer can change a price or its stock at any moment, and the price on the retailer's own page is the one that counts.

Our guides and comparisons are general information built from our price and specification data, not personal advice. Unless a guide says otherwise, we have not tested the products ourselves.

Ads and commissions

Most pages show ads from Google AdSense. Some links to shops are affiliate links: if you buy after clicking one, the shop may pay us a commission. It costs you nothing. How that affects the order of offers is explained on how we rank offers.

Accounts and price alerts

Accounts are free. Keep your password to yourself. Alerts depend on reading the retailers' pages, so an alert can arrive late, or not at all when a page cannot be read. We may close an account used to abuse the site. You can have your account deleted at any time by writing to us.

Using the site

Please do not use Item.ie in a way that harms it or other people: no attempts to break in or overload it, and no spam through its forms.

Liability

We work to keep the information accurate but cannot promise that every price, stock level or detail is correct or complete at every moment. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for losses from relying on information on Item.ie or from a purchase made with a retailer. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under Irish law.

Changes and law

We may update these terms, and the date at the top says when. Irish law applies, and the Irish courts deal with disputes, without taking away your right as a consumer to bring a claim where you live.

How we handle personal data is set out in the privacy notice.
